FURNAS held, thisThursday (02/17), thesecondauction for theassignmentofrenewableenergycertificates. The certificatesweretradedatanaveragepremiumof 40%. Aftercontesting in the open phaseofthebiddingprocess, qualifiedbidderswithvalidbidsregisteredtheir final bidsandwerefully met. Quantitiesandvalues ??willnotbedisclosedso as notto interfere in the bilateral negotiations still in progress. Eachcertificateisequivalentto 1 MWhofgeneratedrenewableenergy.

The final beneficiariescouldchoosetopurchasewatersourcecertificatesgeneratedbythe I-REC Standard BV Platform, orbythe RECFY Platform, ownedby FURNAS, withcertificatesgeneratedwithblockchaintechnologyfromthecompany's ventures. Traderswereexclusivelyofferedwatersourcecertificatesgeneratedbythe I-REC Platform.

ByacquiringRenewable Energy Certificatesequivalenttotheamountofenergyconsumed, theuser proves its renewable origin. The investment helps toachievesustainabilitygoals, asitispossibletoreducegreenhousegasemissions (scope 2 – indirectemissionsfromenergyconsumption) in theBrazilian GHG ProtocolProgram.
